If the Pope blogs, should the Lord tweet?

I didn’t plan to post again something related to religion, but after reading about the pope’s commandment to priests to go forth and blog I can’t shake this picture I have in my head.

Imagine in today’s world of blogs, twitters and facebooks God keeping up with the technology and using it as communication means. For one thing, it’ll surely overwhelm those services by the number of people tracking or connected to Him (or Her?) — Ashton Kutcher would eat the dirt behind Him on Twitter! Secondly, God would likely prefer to be able to address each of his followers with personalized messages, so I can imagine Twitter developers dropping everything and dedicating the next sprints to deliver new features specifically for Him in a truly agile fashion.

Most of all, I can imagine how God would immediately push businesses to deliver Internet connectivity to all parts of the world at any cost so His words can reach every single Christian in the planet — why not, after all before Twitter the communication was limited to Him speaking inside the people’s heads or appearing in their dreams, which must have drained every bit of energy from him to send them as brain waves or similar. As an added benefit, His followers can easily convince those that do not believe in God by showing them the tweets they got from Him!

Maybe I should finally create a Twitter account so when the Lord starts sending tweets I can be there to receive his commandments! 😉
